Adele's Baskets aim to raise awareness and provide families with the necessary resources on Down syndrome prenatally through to the first years of life.
AUTHOR
Stephanie Horman was born and raised in Alberta, Canada, where she graduated from Mount Royal University with a major in Marketing and a minor in Entrepreneurship.
She now lives in BC with her husband and two children, working at Mamas for Mamas, a not for profit organization, that focus on poverty relief for families across Canada.
She has guest written and been featured on many online platforms, such as The Bump, HuffPost Canada, Cafe Mom, Health Magazine, Babble, What's Up Mom, and Healthy Wellness and Lifestyle Magazine.
Stephanie has always had a passion for writing, and is now excited to be creating children's stories in collaboration with her sister, Christine Walker. Darly's Adventures have been created in honour of their mother Darlene, as a way for her to live on between the pages of these books.
ILLUSTRATOR
Born into an artistic family of painters, carvers and musicians, Christine Walker is a multimedia artist who is passionate about the visual arts. Christine believes learning, growing and exploring your craft is never complete, and that everyone has the ability to tap into their self expression. She enjoys teaching and sharing her knowledge with others.
With over 20 years of experience in the visual arts, Christine now owns and operates a retail art supplies, custom framing and art education business in Okotoks, Alberta.
You can find Christine’s art in many private collections across Canada, including British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario.
Christine has always wanted to illustrate a children's book, and is now excited to be creating children's stories in collaboration with her sister Stephanie Horman. Darly's Adventures was created in memory of their mother Darlene, where she will continue to live on in the adventures between the pages.
